This handmade, one-of-a-kind, lighted glass chess table under a shield of clear glass! The glass is handmade. Up close you can see the incredible texture and thickness in the outer rows. The center boxes are soothing in color and mesmerizing when lit! The table is covered with a glass box if you will. It's removable. It keeps the air and dust from the interior. Fits tightly. It's heavy glass itself. You could take the top off to play! Simply incredible quality. Purchased in Switzerland in the 1970's along with two other colored glass lighted tables. This table lights up using bulbs that ho in the stand under the glass. Also, the table is totally covered with a box of glass! Simply stunning. The names "A. Lankhorst for Raak" "Longobard Italy" have been suggested as possible makers. This lovely Mid-Century Modern studio Art Glass table measures 22 1/4" high (on it's original lighted base) 28 1/2" by 28 1/2" and 2 1/2" thick. All of our items are being sold in the condition we found them, with minor flaws because they are either a semi-Antique or Antique and may need slight restoration to bring them back to showroom condition.
