Description: This Antique Brass Trade Sign from J. A. Hislop and Co., is framed by a wooden black frame. The company J. A. Hislop and Co. Was a purveyor of dry goods in the late 19th century (circa 1800’s). This beautifully crafted sign features intricate embossed lettering and decorative flourishes that highlight the artistry of the era. There is a wire attached to the back of this item so you can hand it on a wall or you can just lean it on something too. The lettering is still in very good condition and the letter is still readable. The brass has added a warm patina over the years on the back of the sign, which adds to its antique charm and authenticity. There are minor chips and dents in the wooden frame as well.
