Effanbee Little Lady Anne Shirley 18” Composition Doll

Description: This exceptional Little Lady doll was produced by Effanbee in the 1940’s. The 18” tall doll is all composition. She is fully articulated, and has a light brown mohair (or possibly human hair) wig, and green sleep eyes. She is marked EFFANBEE//U.S.A. on the back of her head and on her back. The outfit is original and includes flower print pink taffeta dress with lace & ribbon trim, white lawn slip, pink panties, white socks with pink stripes, and gold sandals. A pink hair bow completes the outfit. This doll is in excellent condition from a smoke-free home. The face, fingernail and knee paint are very nice. The wig remains in the original set, with original hairpins. The eyes have crazed and appear to have been oiled, and some of the eyelashes are missing. There is a faint ½” line off the outside of the right eye, but no other crazing, cracks or chips. There are some dimples on the doll’s back that appear to have been manufacturing anomalies. She has her original finish, with no repairs or restoration. The stringing is secure and there are no unpleasant odors. The dress is in excellent condition and is still crispy – it has never been laundered. There are two small brown stains; one on the left bodice above the ribbon and another on the back next to the second snap. There is a tiny hole in the center of that stain. There is light wear to the edges of the sandals. Please enlarge and examine the photos for additional description of condition. Thank you for looking.
