Description: This beautiful, antique luxury rug from the famous weaver Mir Jalali is for sale. The pile is knotted from the finest quality kork wool, the warp is made of silk. With a knotting density of around one million knots per square meter, it is one of the finest antique Oriental rugs. Mir Jalali was one of the most important weavers of the second and third quarters of the 20th century. He did not produce in large quantities, making his carpets rare and collectible finds. It measures 223x143cm (7.3x4.7ft) without fringes. The pattern of the rug is very elegant and harmonious. Despite its age of over 70 years, the rug is in overall great condition with no visible signs of wear. The carpet was professionally washed and repaired (some minor defects in the back of the weave) and can immediately be laid out.
