He was heartbroken when his Dodgers moved from Brooklyn to LA in 1958. He became a NY Mets fan in 1962 but his heart was always with his childhood memories of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Living in New Jersey, Jerry became a diehard Mets fan and i am a huge Yankee fan so there was alot of kidding between the two of us about the regal Yankees vs. our little brothers, the Mets. Baseball was our connection to each other and whenever we were together, we'd talk Yankees and Mets. It was my honor to take my step dad to his only World Series game in the 2000 Subway Series, Yankees vs. Mets Game #2. My step dad was blessed with long life but he died in Dec. 2021 at 90 years old. It was a big loss for my family, especially for my mom. (his wife) When going through his belongings, my mom found a bunch of Mets autographs and amongst those was this Jackie Robinson signed album page. I've had a sportscard and sports memorabilia retail store for 37 years, yet he never mentioned this signed Jackie Robinson piece. We were shocked to find this true gem amongst his Bud Harrelson and Wayne Garrett signatures.
