A Dutch 1950's Vintage Veiligglas Opaque Marble This Veiligglas Opaque marble has a strong and impactful abstract pattern, with a rare colour combination from the famous marble company; known as a 'Winnie'. Striking yellow is contrasted with a bright, clean cobalt. Intense colour compliments fantastic form in a rare marble. Made in the 1950s era at the Amsterdam Veiligglas Factory, Opaques such as this one are not as common as the Veiligglas Wirepull type. With their varied and intricately detailed patterns, attractive 'swirls and tails,' and the milky opacity of their base glass, this interesting class make simple but beautiful collector's pieces. They are becoming harder to find and increasingly desirable, making very aesthetically appealing examples of the fantastic range of Dutch produced vintage marbles.
