For your consideration, I am offering this incredibly beautiful Spritzer & Fuhrmann micro-beaded handbag. This most likely dates from the 1940's or 1950's. This is without a doubt the prettiest beadwork I have ever seen! The patience and skill necessary to create this bag is amazing to my farsighted self! I would be cross-eyed and crazy by the time I finished making something like this... but I digress! ;) This beautiful bag is accented by micro-crewel embroidered flowers in pinks, blues and yellows. The flower embroidery is in both sides of the purse! The black beadwork curves in and out, bordering all of the flowers gracefully. Each of these tiny beads is smaller than the heads of most sewing pins, as is the stitching in the embroidery. It is very fine in every detail! This purse is on a metal frame. It is lined with black satin. The chain handle is removable so it can be used as a clutch as well. Even the top of the frame and the button for opening are decorated with beads and a gorgeous enameled badge with painted flowers. Overall, the bag is 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1" or so thick. The chain handle adds 5 1/2" of drop. It is in beautiful condition ~ I see nothing of note wrong with it. It was lovingly owned and very well preserved. It is stored in my clean, non-smoking home.
